Cannot send email on phone or tablet

This article will show you the correct email settings for a smartphone or tablet device that uses a third party mobile broadband connection.

If your device is a using a mobile broadband connection that isn't supplied by iiNet, it may be unable to send emails via iiNet's mail server without the correct port or authentication settings.

(Recommended) Using iiNet email server with authentication

This setup is recommended because it should work no matter which internet service you're using to send your emails.

When setting up email in your phone or tablet, use the following settings for your outgoing (SMTP) mail server:

Outgoing mail server: mail.iinet.net.au
Outgoing port: 465 (If this doesn't work for you, try port 587)
SSL: Enabled
Outgoing authentication: Enabled/password

Username: Your iiNet email address
Password: Your iiNet email address password
 

Using third party email server

When setting up email in your phone or tablet, use the following settings for your outgoing (SMTP) mail server:

Outgoing mail server: As listed for your mobile broadband provider here
Outgoing port: 465 (If this doesn't work for you, try port 25 with SSL disabled)
SSL: Enabled
Outgoing authentication: Disabled (unless noted for your provider here)
