Creating delegates for your Hosted Exchange mailbox

This article will show you how to create delegates for a Hosted Exchange mailbox. Delegates are designated users who have been granted access to a mailbox, with the ability to either send directly from, or on behalf of, that mailbox. 

When a message is sent on behalf of another user it will appear to the recipient as being Sent on behalf of them.  When a message is sent as another user it will appear as if it came from the user themselves.
 

  1. Log in to the Hosting Control Panel and select your Hosted Exchange subscription from the drop-down menu at the top left.
     
  2. Click on Exchange | Mailboxes and then the Display name of the mailbox you wish to create delegates for.
     
  3. Click on Permissions > Grant Permissions > Send Permissions.


     

  4. Use the drop-down menu to assign the relevant user permissions to Send As or Send On Behalf of the mailbox and then click Submit to save the changes.
