Email Setup in Outlook Express 6

This article will show you how to manually set up an account for your iiNet email address in Outlook Express 6.

  1. If you have another email account, send a test email to the email address you're setting up. Alternatively, ask a friend or family member to send you an email.
  2. Open Outlook Express and click Tools, and then select Accounts.


  3. Select the Mail tab in the pop-up window, and then click the Add button.


  4. Type your name as you’d like it to appear on the emails you send, and then click Next.


  5. Enter your iiNet email address, and then click Next.


  6. Enter the following settings before clicking Next. If your email address doesn't end in "", please see iiNet Group Email Settings.

  7. Enter your iiNet email address without the “” part, then enter your iiNet email address password. Ensure Remember password is ticked.


  8. Ensure that Log on Using Secure Password Authentication (SPA) is not ticked, and then click Next.


  9. Click Finish to complete your setup. If your test email arrives in your inbox, you know your email account is up and running!
