Included WiFi Modem Details

We currently offer an Included WiFi Modem when you sign up to a 24-month contract for any ADSL2+, Naked, NBN™, Cable, VDSL2 or FTTH plan.

Please note: The model of modem shipped under this offer may change at any time based on stock levels and other factors, so we can't advise a specific model for all services here. However, we can confirm that VDSL2 broadband orders will receive our Huawei HG658 VDSL Home Gateway, iiNet Cable broadband orders will receive our Cable Gateway Pro, and NBN™ HFC orders will receive our Huawei HG659.

Support information for our modems is available on iiHelp.

What can the Included WiFi Modem do?

The minimum specifications for the modem you'll receive vary depending on the kind of broadband you've ordered - naturally, you need a modem that's going to work with the kind of internet service you have!

Note that NBN™ services includes NBN™ FTTP, FTTB, FTTN, HFC, Wireless and Satellite.

NBN™, ADSL2+, Naked DSL, VDSL2, Cable or FTTH plans bundled with Netphone (VoIP)

  • ADSL2+ or NBN™-ready
Whichever kind of broadband you ordered, we'll make sure the modem supplied will work with it.

  • VoIP enabled
This means that you can use the modem for your Netphone (VoIP) service. You'll need a handset to plug into the back of the modem to make and receive calls.

  • 4 x Gigabit Ethernet ports
This allows you to connect up to 4 other devices via Ethernet cable such as computers, gaming consoles, set top boxes or additional WiFi routers.

  • 2.4GHz 802.11n WiFi
This allows you to wirelessly connect your WiFi devices such as smartphones, tablets, laptops or any other device with a WiFi antenna installed. The range should be fine for the vast majority of Australian homes. If your place is particularly large, you may need to pick up a WiFi Range Extender from your local computer store.

ADSL2+ plans NOT bundled with Netphone (VoIP)

  • ADSL2+ ready
The modem is ready to go with ADSL2+ broadband or Naked DSL. Please note that it won't work with NBN™ broadband or Netphone (VoIP), so if you're due to switch to NBN™ soon or you'd like to get a Netphone service, consider adding Netphone to your order and then refer to the section above.
