Dialup setup for Windows 10

This article will show you how to connect to your iiNet Dialup internet on a computer running Windows 10.

Please note: By default, Windows 10 computers do not come with built-in dialup modems. You may need to have one installed by a computer technician, or purchase a USB plugin dialup modem from your local computer store. Please check the dialup modem manufacturer's tech specs to make sure the modem is compatible with Windows 10.

Connecting to Dialup on Windows 10

  1. In the bottom right-hand corner of the desktop, click the Network icon. This icon may appear differently depending on whether or not WiFi networks are detecetd in the area, as shown below.

  2. Select Dial-up Connection.

  3. This will bring up the Network & Internet settings window. Click Dial-up on the right-hand side of the window to expand that option, and then click the Connect button.

  4. Fill in the following details. We recommend ticking "Save this user name and password for the following users..." and selecting "Anyone who uses this computer".

User name: Your dialup username (e.g. example@iinet.net.au)
    Password: Your dialup password
    Dial: 0198333955

  5. Click Dial to finish. Your computer should now be connected to the internet. If the connection fails because the phone line is busy, try again when the Home Phone is not in use.
